17th June 2006Early morning, woke up at 0900 hours. Got
ourselves ready for our next activity….”ISLAND
HOPPING”
Our transport took us to the dock at ‘Awana Porto Malai’ Resort where we
boarded the speedboat to our island hopping adventure.

First island the boatman brought us to was the “Pulau Dayang
Bunting”(

Pregnant Maiden Island)

where it’s outline resembles a pregnant giant lady.

In the middle of the island there’s “Tasik Dayang Bunting”(Lake of
the Pregnant Maiden). A nice peaceful lake…

…untill we invade it.

Right after that, the boatman brought us to a cave, he called “Bat
Cave” by the sea on a nearby island…which kind of reminded me of my caving
trip

“i saw lotsa bat hangin all over the cave..groovy”

A glimpse of the beautiful scene on our journey…Picture_267

“they can do ‘LOST’ season 3 here”

After that, we visited the place where the eagles were fed.

Back to the land, had our lunch, and we headed to
“Dataran Lang”(Eagle Square)…..for more bird BIRD

15th June 2006
We leave KL on a Thurs night by bus. There’s nothing much but traveling the whole night so let’s just skip 15th June.

16th June 2006
We reach Kuala Perlis early in the morning(6am+). The sky was still so dark; seriously i had no idea that Kuala Perlis Jetty was just a stone throw away. Got ourselves some ferry ticket and boarded our ride to LANGKAWI!!
Picture012

luxurious ain’t that, but nope….that wasn’t our ride. We boarded the ‘Old’ Mighty Ferry

Picture084

the weather was fairly fine that morning

"Argh! Volcano!!"

It has been years..many years since i last came to Langkawi. To my surprise the walk from the jetty leads us straight to a small shopping arcade. So different from what i last remembered. My favorite Starbucks was there too!!

"strictly no parkin’ "

We rented some cars to fetch ourselves to our lodging place, called "Langkapuri". Budget hotel; quite old but clean with beautiful seaside view.
Picture_105

Everyone were tired so, for the first destination in our Langkawi Exploration…Slumberland
Picture_108

"not all went to slumberland though"

Right after we’ve been fully charged we started our
"Le tour De Langkawi". All we need was just a road map

Picture_117

"it’s like ‘Risk Map’ with simple roads"

First stop "Oriental Village Langkawi"
The main attraction here - the Cable Car " ..to where?" to a panoramic view of the whole Lankawi of coz.
Picture_145
"it was quite misty up there"

"therefore, we decided to pose for our little achievements"

At the deck i saw this lonely giant bear sitting there.

So, i went over to greet him ‘hi’Picture_187

Besides the cable car, the oriental village itself of coz’ was quite a nice place.

–quick post—————————————————

There’s been a rush for sugar lately. cost of sugar went  upupupup due to the shortage of sugar sources. Everyone’s been telling me on how they’re limited to buy 2 packs per purchase only and how they rush and hunt for more. But despite of what they told me my mind can’t help it but to imagine the song by The Archie’s, "~~sugar! du du du du du doo…oh my honey honey! dududududu……" (as the background music to the scene where people are all rushing to get their sugar supplies)
